Current Status: Completed
Going through several identities since being built in 1911 the Hotel Rialto has become a symbol of heritage restoration in Victoria’s downtown core. It went through a major rehabilitation project in 2007 which included the basement, main and first floor including a bistro, restaurant (Veneto), new kitchen, reception desk area, retail wine store, washrooms, building services, code upgrading and continued in 2010 of the remaining upper three floors. Restoration included original windows, exterior details and original terra cotta. New columns matching the details of the originals were cast using Ductal precast concrete with colours carefully matched to the remaining terra cotta on the upper floors.
More recently work to expand the basement to include offices, laundry services and relocated banquet room was completed in 2015.
